The Information Technology Unit (ITU) is seeking a Junior Technical Support Analyst to join our Service Desk team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career IT professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, delivering exceptional customer service and working with a diverse range of technologies in a collaborative university environment.
About the Team The Information Technology Unit provides the core technology services that enable UTS to teach, learn, conduct world-class research and support university operations. As part of Service Management Office you'll work in an agile and collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous improvement and customer-focused service delivery.
Partnering with stakeholders across the university, the team is responsible for delivering reliable, secure and sustainable technology services that make a meaningful impact on the UTS community.
About the Role
As a Junior Technical Support Analyst, you will provide technical support to staff and students across the university, assisting with hardware, software and technology-related issues while ensuring a positive customer experience
You'll also gain exposure to a broad range of systems and technologies, making this an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical skills and build a career in IT support.
This role operates within an agile setting where collaboration, adaptability and continuous learning are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff and students.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and system-related issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate support records and communicate updates on support requests.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to deliver consistent and effective customer service.
- Assist with the implementation and improvement of technical support processes.
- Contribute to cybersecurity awareness and the protection of university systems and information.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance service delivery.
About You To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience providing technical support or customer service in an IT environment.
- Knowledge of IT support processes, ticketing systems and troubleshooting practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and proactively as an individual
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Remuneration & Advantages
Base Salary: $ 78,352.00 p.a. (HEW 4)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
This position is full-time and offered on a 12 months Fixed-Term basis.
