Position Description
Strategy and Fundraising Manager
The Strategy and Fundraising Manager is responsible for leading the organisation's fundraising, partnerships and strategic growth initiatives to strengthen and diversify income streams, building sustainable funding relationships and increasing the organisation's capacity to deliver on its vision and mission. Working in partnership with the Board of Management, the role identifies and develops opportunities that support the long-term sustainability and impact of Mums Supporting Families in Need. The role is responsible for grants, fundraising, sponsorships and partnerships as well as building on existing initiatives to grow our income and profile.
You will take the lead in driving our strategic priorities and delivering on major projects and long-term goals, organisational planning, innovation and governance within Mums Supporting Families in Need. This role collaborates with all staff and volunteers to develop and support a positive organisational culture and is a pivotal point of contact between the Mums Supporting Families in Need board of management and key stakeholders. You will play a key role in strengthening MSFIN's profile across the philanthropic, corporate and community sectors, cultivating meaningful partnerships that enable long-term organisational sustainability and impact.

Founded in 2012, Mums Supporting Families in Need started with a big heart and a simple idea. The idea that as a community, we can ensure that no family is living without their basic daily needs being met. Based in the City of Frankston, Mums Supporting Families in Need is a volunteer run charity helping families all over Victoria by providing baby goods, food, clothing, and daily living essentials through our partnerships with over 110 community support organisations.
Our vision is to provide good quality recycled and new goods to families in need, to ensure every child has access to their basic daily needs. We aspire to be a charity organisation where everyone is committed to achieving our vision and demonstrates our values in all that they do.
We support more than 1700 families every year with crisis packs across the Bayside, Frankston, Mornington Peninsula, Cardinia and Casey area.

Purpose and objectives
The purpose of the Strategy and Fundraising Supervisor is to drive income generation and support the board of management to develop and meet its strategic objectives and priorities.
Responsibilities and accountabilities of the position include:
Grants, Financial Opportunities and Community Engagement
- Develop and implement grant, fundraising and sponsorship strategies to maximise program and income growth, and achieve revenue targets.
- Develop and implement strategies to diversify income streams across grants, individual giving, corporate partnerships, philanthropic trusts and foundations, community fundraising and major gifts.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective donors, funding partners and strategic supporters.
- Manage grant application and acquittal process.
- Act as first point of contact for financial supporters and strategic partners, developing meaningful long-term relationships that encourage ongoing engagement and investment in MSFIN's mission.
- Develop and implement donor stewardship activities that strengthen supporter retention and encourage repeat giving.
- Grow and work with admin support to maintain the organisation's donor database and CRM, ensuring accurate records.
- Manage the communication and marketing functions (including social media) of the organisation to ensure the consistent brand messaging that strengthens awareness, build trust and inspires community support.
- Lead community engagement opportunities including presentations, networking and fundraising events, media opportunities and fundraising campaigns to tell our story and build awareness and support.
- Project manage fundraising events, campaigns and programs that strengthen donor engagement and diversify revenue.
Organisational Leadership
- Work with Operations Coordinator to drive the implementation of strategic objectives and priorities and deliver major projects.
- Create opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement and support the Operations Coordinator in the running of the organisation.
- Facilitate stock purchasing in line with successful grant agreements.
- In collaboration with the Operations Coordinator, recruit and train personnel and allocate responsibilities, assess volunteer performance and provide coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Identify opportunities that strengthen the long-term sustainability of MSFIN.
- Develop innovative fundraising and partnership initiatives aligned with organisational goals.
- Identify emerging trends across philanthropy, grants and community partnerships and recommend opportunities for growth.
Operational Reporting
- Monitor, review, and report operational key performance indicators to ensure Mums Supporting Families in Need strategic objectives are met.
- Track and report fundraising performance, partnership development, donor growth and income diversification.

Relevant Experience
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, working with individual donors, trusts and foundations and partnership development.
- Demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships with donors, businesses and community stakeholders.
- Self-driven leadership skills.
- Excellent writing, analytical and research skills with an ability to seek, interpret and synthesise information and communicate it effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong computer literacy in using a range of Microsoft Office programs, systems and databases such as CRM system.
- Proven initiative to drive success and solve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- A solid focus on work health and safety.
- Project management experience including events and/or programs.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines.
