Purpose and Main Responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to support with site assessments, due diligence and planning approval activities across GreenPoint Energy’s portfolio of early-stage renewable energy (wind, solar and battery) projects across Australia. The role requires a person with passion for working with local communities and Government to build Australia’s renewable energy future.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in town planning, development approvals, or environmental planning, preferably within the renewable energy, , or infrastructure sectors
- Tertiary qualification in Urban/Town Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Robust working knowledge of State and Local planning policies, legislation, codes and guidelines and the environmental approval processes across Australian jurisdictions
- Experience liaising and negotiating with Local and State Government bodies and other authorities/agencies
- Proven ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including members of the public and local communities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives in a fast-paced environment

This includes supporting the General Manager- Planning and Community by:
- Identifying planning and environmental approval risks and pathways for projects at all levels of government
- Organising and attending meetings with Local and State Governments, and other authorities/agencies
- Communicating effectively and appropriately with a diverse range of stakeholders, including members of the public
- Collaborate with internal project teams to progress the development of projects
Key Accountabilities
Accountable for achieving results and targets including but not limited to the following key performance indicators (KPIs):
- Assist in tracking project milestones and key deliverables
- Manage and engage a range of technical experts to facilitate the development approval process
- Lead in securing planning approvals for a range of Renewable Energy Projects
- Assist in community engagement activities
