About the Position
The Aged or Disabled Carer plays a vital role at Exaudy Care Pty Ltd, providing essential day-to-day support to aged and disabled clients to enhance their independence, quality of life, and overall wellbeing. Working within a supportive NDIS environment, the carer delivers practical assistance with personal care, household tasks, social activities, and emotional support while helping clients build confidence, social skills, and greater autonomy through individualised programs. This position is fundamental to delivering compassionate, person-centred care that respects participant choice and promotes dignity and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities Providing general household assistance, including food preparation, housework, and keeping living areas clean. Assisting with personal care, health and personal hygiene, dressing, and medication administration.
Offering emotional support, care, companionship, and friendship to promote wellbeing. Supporting clients with physical mobility assistance and helping them perform important daily activities. Undertaking tasks outside the home such as shopping and facilitating community access.
Ensuring a varied program of social and recreational activities to enrich client life. Observing behaviour, maintaining accurate records of client progress, and assessing ongoing needs. Assisting in developing and implementing client-specific programs to build social skills, self-image, self-confidence, and independence.
Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Minimum AQF Certificate II or III in Individual Support, Community Services, or a related field, or at least one year of relevant experience.
Minimum of one year’s experience in a carer or support worker role within the disability or aged care sector. Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships while promoting client dignity, choice, and independence. Sound practical skills in personal care, household tasks, medication support, and accurate record-keeping.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, with good organisational skills and attention to detail. Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred), valid driver’s licence with reliable transport (preferred), and willingness to obtain (or hold) a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
