Lead Civil Engineer | Perth | 12 Months+

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced civil engineering leader to join a major resources portfolio as Lead Civil Engineer. Reporting to the Department Manager, this is a hands-on technical and design management role responsible for civil delivery on a major iron ore and energy development.

Working closely with a multidisciplinary project team across mechanical, structural and process disciplines, you will lead a team of civil engineers and designers, own technical delivery of all civil-related scope, and manage the client relationship on scope, schedule and design outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead a team of civil engineers and designers to meet technical, statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
- Take responsibility for technical delivery of all civil-related elements: access roads, construction pads, bulk and detailed earthworks, and general infrastructure development.
- Manage scope and proactively resolve discrepancies between client and design requirements.
- Promote workshare across offices and coordinate cross-disciplinary delivery.




- Gather data and prepare engineering studies, analyses and calculations to support technical solutions.
- Participate in bid clarifications, evaluations and vendor certification activities.
- Prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
- Keep up to date with technical developments and innovation in civil engineering.
- Mentor site engineers while maintaining robust communication with the wider project team and client.

Key Requirements

- Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
- 15+ years' experience in civil engineering design within mining, energy or infrastructure.
- Previous experience leading a team delivering projects under a tight schedule
- CPEng status.
- Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD and 12D – beneficial.
