Description
We are looking for a Lead - Community and Regional Initiatives to help us explore and lead initiatives that support the goals of our regional approach to wellbeing across mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and suicide prevention.
About the role:
- This is a highly collaborative role focused on engagement, community connection and turning ideas into action. You will lead the adoption of Brisbane North PHN's Our Approach to Wellbeing, supporting our Mental Health and Connected Communities team to embed a human-centred way of working into everyday practice.
- You'll work closely with communities, people with lived and living experience, carers, government, health and community providers and sector partners to develop solutions that respond to community need.
- A key focus will be leading regional quality and improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to strengthen mental health, suicide prevention and wellbeing outcomes across the region.
- You'll also bring a solid evaluation and data focus, working within our Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning approach to ensure we have the right systems and processes to capture outcomes, measure impact and drive continuous improvement.
- The role also contributes to regional planning, system reform and the commissioning cycle, including service design, procurement, KPI development, evaluation and performance monitoring.
Skills and Experiences:
About You We're looking for a relationship-focused, consultative and outcomes-driven professional who enjoys working with people, communities and stakeholders to create meaningful change.
You will bring
- Tertiary qualifications in health, community services or a related discipline, with significant experience in mental health or community settings
- Strong experience in community engagement, community development, consultation or collaborative partnering
- Experience working with people with lived and living experience, carers, providers, government and sector stakeholders
- Experience applying human-centred approaches to improve services and outcomes
- Knowledge of mental health, alcohol and other drugs and suicide prevention
- Experience in quality improvement, program evaluation, data collection and analysis
- An understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) approaches or similar evaluation frameworks
- Strong project management, communication and facilitation skills
- The ability to translate community insights and evidence into practical action

Salary: $109,438.51 full-time equivalent, including 12% super, salary packaging, additional week of leave, $1,500 PD allowance, $150 wellbeing allowance and $1,000 car parking benefit. Applications will be reviewed as received and may close early. Close date is 16/08/2026.
Part-time opportunity: We would consider a 0.8 FTE arrangement for the right candidate.
