McCabe Build Co. is looking for an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll supervise a small crew, maintain high-quality workmanship, and help deliver residential and commercial building projects safely, on time, and to a high standard.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support carpentry crews on site.
- Coordinate daily work and organise materials.
- Ensure work is completed safely and meets quality standards.
- Mentor apprentices and junior carpenters.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Carry out carpentry work including framing, fit-out and finishing.
- Communicate with project managers, clients and other trades.
- Monitor project progress and keep jobs on schedule.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Carpenter (trade certificate or apprenticeship completed).
- At least 3 years' experience as a qualified carpenter.
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to read plans and solve problems on site.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Current driver's licence.
- First Aid and Site Supervisor training are an advantage but not essential.
