Role Description Leading Hand Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical works on commercial projects. This position oversees day-to-day site activities, including guiding electricians and apprentices, allocating tasks, and ensuring work is completed to quality and safety standards.

The role includes hands-on installation, testing, and maintenance of commercial electrical systems, as well as interpreting drawings, specifications, and compliance requirements.

The Leading Hand

Electrician liaises with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to provide updates, resolve issues, and support efficient project delivery. The role also involves conducting site inspections,



monitoring construction safety practices, and contributing to continuous improvement in workflow and site operations.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills and site supervision experience to lead teams and coordinate daily work on commercial projects.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills to liaise with project stakeholders, provide transparent instructions, and produce accurate site reports.
- Candidates should possess inspection and quality assurance skills to verify installations, identify defects, and ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Candidates should possess construction safety knowledge, including safe work practices, risk assessment, and adherence to WHS regulations.
- Valid electrical trade qualification and license, with experience in commercial installations, fit-outs, and maintenance.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and working within structured project governance frameworks.
- Current driver’s license and willingness to work across multiple commercial sites as required.
