Salary: $117,579 - $132,230 p.a. plus superannuation

Location: East Melbourne The Role The work is broad and includes legal advice on procurement, contract and commercial matters, information technology, intellectual property, insurance, legislative interpretation and compliance, policy and governance issues, privacy, Freedom of Information (FOI) and litigation.
Functional
Accountabilities
· Provide advice and support to FRV's procurement and project teams on tendering, contractual, probity and governance issues. Draft, negotiate and settle procurement contracts, develop and update appropriate contract templates.
· Review and provide advice on Memoranda of Understanding, Service Level Agreements between FRV and other Emergency Services Organisations relating to inter-agency activities, together with other contractual arrangements between FRV and external parties. Work collaboratively with other relevant Victorian Government stakeholders in relation to emergency services legislation and reform of the emergency services sector in Victoria.
· Provide high level legal advice on a diverse range of complex and challenging legal, policy and technical issues. Assist the General Counsel in the provision of advice to the Fire Rescue Commissioner, Executive Leadership Team and other staff members on legal, governance and compliance matters.
· Analyse and interpret legislation at a high level and provide guidance and direction on critical legislation and policy issues, with a particular reference to the Emergency Services Sector. Close to Public Transport (Parliament Stations) What you will need to Succeed To be successful in this position, you will have:
· Bachelor of Law
· Post admission experience.
· Demonstrated experience in researching and providing written and verbal legal advice on a range of complex legal issues, drafting and negotiating agreements, engaging with internal and external stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
· Experience in legislation development, statutory interpretation and public sector governance and compliance would be highly regarded.
