About the Role

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate LibraryTechnician – Systems to take ownership of the administration,optimisation and development of our Library Management System (LMS)and associated technologies.)

Reporting to the Library Technology Coordinator, you’ll play akey role in supporting high‑quality library operations by:

- Managing LMS administration, upgrades and enhancements
- Overseeing cataloguing operations
- Providing technical support and delivering stafftraining
- Developing and maintaining system procedures andanalytics
- Liaising with the State Library, LMS providers and internalteams

This position sits within Library Services in the Library, Placeand Culture Service Unit—supporting cohesive, creative andcommunity‑focused library experiences across the City.

About you

We’re seeking a proactive and solutions‑focused LibraryTechnician with strong technical aptitude and a passion forenhancing digital library services. You’ll enjoy analysingproblems, improving processes, and collaborating with staff acrossmultiple library branches.

Besides demonstrated experience, you’ll need to have:

- Recognised qualifications eligible for Technicianmembership of ALIA or equivalent




- Strong understanding of library and information scienceprinciples
- Demonstrated experience with Spydus or a similar LMS
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solvingskills
- Ability to develop procedures, deliver training and managecompeting priorities
- Commitment to customer service in a digital andtechnology‑rich environment

Salary and Benefits: Salary range from Level 5Step 1 – Step 4($96,998.46 - $102,899.20) of theCity ofCockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications andexperience.
