Hillbrook Projects is a growing Melbourne builder delivering quality residential, SDA and commercial projects. We were built on genuine on‑site experience blended with professional project management, and we work under one roof alongside registered building practitioners. Delivery is the thing we protect above all else.
The role
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to take full ownership of our projects across the South East of Melbourne. This is a hands‑on management role for someone with several years behind them who wants to run their own jobs and set the standard on site.
Your first project is the SDA homes for Enliven, a $3.6 million disability accommodation build. As a Class 3 project it carries the fire, access and compliance requirements that come with accommodation buildings, and it needs a Site Manager who understands the difference between building a house and building a fully accessible, high physical support home for people who rely on it every day.
What you will do
- Take full site management responsibility for your projects, start to finish
- Build, run and religiously adjust the construction programme, calling up trades and materials ahead of time
- Schedule and coordinate all trades, subcontractors and suppliers, sequencing works so trades flow cleanly
- Keep daily site diaries, photos, RFIs and directions current through Procore
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and fire services drawings, and pick up clashes before they are built
- Coordinate the building surveyor and consultants through inspection stages, through to certification and occupancy
- Own health and safety on your site: SWMS, inductions, toolbox talks and hazard management
What we need from you
- Several years in a Site Manager role, ideally 5+ years, on residential and/or commercial projects
- Genuine residential building experience (non‑negotiable)
- A carpentry background strongly preferred, ideally trade qualified
- Sound knowledge of the NCC and Australian Standards, applied on site
- Ability to accurately read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Impeccable organisation and strong call‑up and planning skills
- Explicit, confident communication (our two highest priorities are communication and organisation)
- Confidence with construction software such as Procore and similar programs
- Construction Induction (White Card), current Victorian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Highly regarded
- Experience on NDIS, SDA or disability accommodation projects
- Experience on Class 3 buildings and how they differ from Class 1 residential, Multi Residential townhome builds
- Registration as a building practitioner, or working towards it
Who you are (This is who we are)
- A problem solver, not a problem creator. You bring solutions, not just problems
- Someone who sorts things out rather than pointing fingers
- Someone who understands that plans and reality do not always match, and works the problem
- A team‑first operator with a get‑it‑done mindset
What we offer
- A genuine, family‑like culture that backs your career and growth
- Working with A Players, who work hard, smart and are passionate about construction.
- An above‑market salary package to match the experience you bring
- Real ownership of your own projects, starting with a flagship SDA build
- An ambitious, fast‑growing company run by people who have been on the tools and in the office
