One of our excellent dental assistant team is heading overseas for extended leave, we are inviting candidates to apply for a full or part time position at our practice.

SMD is a South Melbourne General Dental Practice with two dentists. We provide excellent general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, as well as facial aesthetics/injectable treatments.

We are currently unable to employ people with "no dental work experience", or without "working rights in Australia". We would prefer dental assistants who are trained to the ANZS 5369: 2023 standard.

Theposition is for a qualifieddental nurse/assistant. The ideal candidate must be capable ofworking within a small dental team. Experience in General/Cosmetic Dentistry is necessary, but not required for injectable treatments.

The advertised role encompasses all the areas of dental chair-side assisting; sterilisation; reception; some administration duties; practice cleaning;& general duties as required. Whilst experience or knowledge of reception & patient administration is not essential, it is an advantage.





The full-time position has a maximum ideal work week of four consecutive days. A part-time position would ideally be on two consecutive days. Hours sometimes change depending on team personal commitments or illness.

Wework from 8AM until 6.15PM week days. Additional hours are always negotiated.
