About the role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Manager to join our team at our Camberwell Gardens 75 bed facility. This is a full-time position that plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care to our residents. As Clinical Manager, you will be responsible for the clinical leadership and management of the aged care facility, overseeing nursing staff, coordinating care delivery and maintaining compliance with all relevant aged care regulations and standards. This role is essential to the strategic functioning of the facility and directly impacts the quality of care provided to our vulnerable resident population.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff, including registered nurses and care workers, fostering a supportive and professional team environment
- Assess and plan resident care needs, ensuring personalised care plans are developed, implemented and regularly reviewed in accordance with best practice standards
- Oversee the administration of medications and therapeutic treatments,
ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and organisational policies
- Monitor and maintain clinical quality and safety standards across the facility, including infection prevention and control measures
- Manage incident reporting, investigation and follow-up actions to minimise risks and improve care quality
- Coordinate with medical practitioners, allied health professionals and external healthcare providers to optimise resident health outcomes
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate resident clinical documentation and records
- Support staff training and professional development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement
- Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the broader management team to support the facility's operational and strategic objectives
What we're looking for
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in aged care nursing, with demonstrated experience in a clinical leadership or supervisory role
- Sound knowledge of aged care legislation, including the Aged Care Act and Aged Care Quality Standards
- Strong understanding of person-centred care principles and demonstrated ability to apply these in clinical practice
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise care needs effectively
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor nursing and care staff in a collaborative manner
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, staff and external healthcare providers
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, safety and compliance
- Ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining professional standards and seeking guidance when appropriate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience with computerised clinical documentation systems is desirable
