Yard Person – Portable Buildings

Location: Dandenong/South Eastern Suburbs, VIC

Kelm Hire is a growing equipment and portable building hire company supplying quality solutions across Victoria and Queensland. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Yard Person to join our team at our Dandenong branch.

About the Role

This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring our portable buildings are cleaned, presented, and ready for hire. You'll work as part of our yard team preparing buildings to the highest standard while assisting with general yard duties and carrying out minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities

- Wash and clean portable buildings, toilets, lunchrooms, offices, and site sheds.

- Prepare buildings for customer delivery.

- Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance to portable buildings.

- Operate a forklift to move portable buildings and equipment.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard.

- Report any damage or maintenance issues.

- Attend customer sites, inspect portable buildings,



carry out minor repairs or maintenance.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.

- Physically fit and enjoys working outdoors.

- Takes pride in producing high-quality work.

- Able to work independently and as part of a team.

- Has excellent attention to detail.

- Experience with minor repairs, maintenance or handyman work.

Essential Requirements

- Experience with minor repairs, maintenance, or handyman work.

- Ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools.

- Current driver's licence.

Desirable Qualifications

- Current Forklift Licence.

- Previous experience in a yard, construction, hire, building maintenance, or manufacturing environment.
