About the role

What you'll do

- Lead the strategic planning and execution of the Dataspaces Australia initiative, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including researchers, academic staff, and industry partners, to promote collaboration.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input and feedback from various stakeholders, ensuring their needs are addressed.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on key milestones and outcomes.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the project and its benefits to the broader community.
- Identify potential risks and challenges to the project and devise mitigation strategies to address them proactively.




- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that the necessary digital infrastructure and data management practices are in place.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and enhance project outcomes.
- Advocate for the importance of data spaces in advancing research capabilities and innovation within the university.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on trends and advancements in digital innovation and research management.
- Contribute to the development of reports and publications that highlight the project's achievements and impact.

Requirements

- At least five years of experience in program management or a closely related field, demonstrating a track record of successful project delivery.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders effectively.
- A solid understanding of research environments, particularly in relation to digital innovation and data management.
- A relevant degree in a field such as project management, information technology, or a related discipline.




- Strong analytical skills with the capability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.

Nice to have

- Previous experience in managing large-scale research projects, particularly in a university or research institution setting.
- Familiarity with data management practices and digital infrastructure, enhancing the project's technical foundation.
- Knowledge of funding mechanisms and grant applications related to research initiatives.

- The annual salary for this role is set at $136,900, with the possibility of an additional 17% superannuation contribution.
