About the role
As an Apprentice Machinist, you'll develop practical skills and industry knowledge while working alongside experienced tradespeople. Your duties will include:
- Machining a variety of parts as required
- Assembling and fitting mechanical equipment
- Operating manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders and drills
- Conducting inspections and quality checks
- Reporting damaged,
faulty or unsafe equipment
- Following workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Attending training with the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and maintaining a high standard of work and study
About you To be successful, you'll demonstrate:
- A genuine interest in machining and engineering
- A passion for hands-on, technical work
- Solid mathematical ability and mechanical aptitude
- A willingness to learn, take direction and develop new skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Reliability, honesty and punctuality
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport
As part of the recruitment process, suitable applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical testing, including drug and alcohol screening.
