Our client is a proudly Australian-owned manufacturer and supplier of flexible packaging solutions for the food processing industry. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their close-knit and supportive team. This is a fantastic opening for a hands-on tradesperson who thrives on working across a diverse range of equipment and is looking to secure a long-term, reliable career within a thriving essential industry.
This role is offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis for the right candidate, providing a clear and reliable pathway to long-term employment.
Shift times – 7am to 3.30pm, 40hr week, Monday to Friday with O/T as required.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the maintenance team, you will ensure the manufacturing plant operates at peak efficiency. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Performing general maintenance and vital repairs on a wide variety of parts, plant infrastructure, and manufacturing machinery.
- Executing rapid-response breakdown troubleshooting to minimize production downtime.
- Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and reliability of site equipment.
- Carrying out routine and unplanned mechanical tasks as they arise on the production floor.
- Assisting with general ad hoc facility and equipment tasks to support the broader operations team.

We are looking for a proactive and skilled tradesperson who takes pride in the quality of their work. To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following attributes:
- Proven experience working as a Maintenance Fitter within a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
- The ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and manage your time effectively without constant supervision.
- A high level of attention to detail to ensure all repairs meet strict operational and safety standards.
- Practical experience in basic welding, with basic metal fabrication skills highly regarded as a distinct advantage.
- A steadfast commitment to workplace safety and strict adherence to OH&S; principles at all times.
- Desirable: A valid Forklift Licence and previous operating experience will be viewed favourably.
