Your Recent Role And Responsibilities
The Java Technical Lead – Health Integration designs, builds and supports integration services that connect healthcare and enterprise systems. This role delivers secure, reliable interfaces and APIs using healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2 and FHIR. Working closely with delivery teams, client stakeholders and vendors, you will support integrations across environments and lead complex data transformation and validation to ensure high-quality, interoperable healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver secure, compliant healthcare integrations using FHIR, HL7 v2 and CDA standards.
- Lead Java-based implementation of Enterprise Integration Patterns using SOAP/REST APIs and JSON/XML data formats.
- Build, integrate and deploy enterprise-scale solutions using Apache Camel and Apache Kafka.
- Collaborate with Platform and DevOps engineers to design CI/CD pipelines within DevOps and GitOps frameworks across cloud-native environments.
- Champion software quality through comprehensive testing practices and performance/load testing in complex healthcare ecosystems.
About You And What You'll Bring
- Extensive experience designing and delivering healthcare integration solutions using industry interoperability standards.
- Expert-level Java engineering capability across enterprise integration frameworks and technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Camel and Apache Kafka in large-scale environments.
- Proven leadership in Agile/Scrum teams, with a focus on mentoring, continuous improvement and high-quality delivery.
- Broad experience in testing practices including unit, integration, API and performance testing using JUnit, Bruno and Apache JMeter.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be able to gain a Baseline level security clearance.
