Due to our current growth and recent project awards, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Document Controller based at our Headquarters in Doncaster.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and as part of Nacap’s centralised document control function, you will be responsible for leading and managing all document control activities across Nacap’s projects and corporate functions, ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant management of all documentation. This role provides governance, oversight, and hands-on control of engineering, construction, quality, commercial, and corporate documentation throughout the project and business lifecycle.

You will act as the subject matter expert for document control systems, processes, and standards, supporting both project teams and corporate functions to meet contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements.

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement are critical to success in this role.

Establish, implement, and continuously improve corporate and project document control procedures to ensure the accuracy, integrity, accessibility, and traceability of all organisational and project documentation.

Focal point for rollout of Document Management Systems (DMS) on projects, including Nacap’s internal systems as well as Client specified systems (where required).

Establish, administer and maintain Document Management Systems (DMS) to support efficient and compliant document control processes.

Ensure accurate recording and tracking of document submissions, revisions, distributions, and approvals,



including automated workflows and notifications.

Maintain full traceability of documents across their lifecycle, ensuring audit-ready systems and records.

Ensure all documentation complies with relevant regulatory requirements, client specifications, industry standards, and organisational policies.

Manage and control the distribution of documents to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with distribution matrices, project requirements, and agreed timelines.

Monitor and interpret regulatory and industry changes relating to document control, ensuring processes remain compliant and up to date.

Lead and support document control teams to deliver key project milestones.

What do you bring?

In addition to the above, we require an individual with;

Minimum 8 + years' experience as a document controller, senior document controller or information manager in the engineering and construction industry, ideally on infrastructure projects such as roads, pipelines, oil, gas, renewables or utilities.

Minimum 3 + years in a people leadership role within the engineering and construction industry.

Effective oral and written communication skills including proven ability in preparation of written reports, procedures, project communication plans, recommendations and proposals.

Proficient in Document Management Systems such as InEight Document, Aconex, and other relevant platforms.

Demonstrated experience of establishing and rolling out document management systems on projects (i.e. setting up SharePoint sites and implementing DMS platforms such as InEight Document or Aconex).

Capability in managing document control activities simultaneously on multiple projects.





Leading document control activities on large, complex projects.

Key client interface for upstream document management activities.

Rolling out relevant document management user training for project team(s).

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong data management and reporting capability (Excel, dashboards, tracking logs).
