About the Role
We are looking for reliable, compassionate Support Workers to join our team and provide hands-on support to participants in their homes and in the community.
This is a casual with flexible hours (including some evenings, weekends and public holidays as needed) with the potential of permanant part time and full time progression. Shifts are primarily based in the Newcastle / Lake Macquarie / Hunter region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support that promotes independence, choice and control
- Assist with daily living activities (personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, medication prompting as required)
- Support participants to access the community, appointments, activities and social opportunities
- Follow individual support plans and contribute to positive outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely records
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, coordinators and other team members
- Uphold NDS Practice Standards, organisational policies and duty of care at all times
About You
- Genuine passion for supporting people with disability
- Reliable, professional and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible availability (including some weekends)
- Current full Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (highly desirable)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience in disability, aged care, community services or related fields is preferred but not essential – we value the right attitude and willingness to learn
