Trainer and Assessor – Certificate III in Pathology Collection

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Employment Type: Casual

We are seeking an energetic, proactive, student‑focused Trainer and Assessor/Clinical Facilitator to provide casual training and assessment for the Certificate III in Pathology Collection, including on‑site student facilitation visits across Melbourne. This role suits someone with strong current industry experience in pathology collection who is passionate about sharing knowledge and supporting students to develop practical, job‑ready skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing for and delivering high‑quality training sessions in accordance with relevant training standards and course requirements
- Facilitating both practical and theoretical learning activities
- Assessing students’ competencies in line with current training package requirements and industry standards
- Marking student assessments and updating results in the student management system
- Preparing and maintaining learning materials to support effective training delivery
- Providing students with timely feedback, guidance and support
- Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date student records
- Supporting students’ educational progress and development
- Ensuring compliance with RTO standards and regulatory requirements




- Participating in professional development to maintain industry currency

Selection Criteria

- Relevant qualification in Pathology Collection or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge and current industry experience in pathology collection workflows and practical procedures
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or current equivalent credential accepted under VET requirements
- Applicants working towards the required training and assessment credential may also be considered
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural learning environment
- Ability to engage students and draw on industry experience to create a rich learning experience
- Demonstrated capacity to motivate, coach and support students throughout their course
- Proactive, positive and qualified approach to teaching adult learners
