We're looking for a reliable and motivated Forklift Operator / Freight Handler to join a busy freight and logistics operation. This is a hands‑on role where you'll be responsible for safely handling and moving freight while working in a quick‑paced warehouse environment.
About the Role
As part of the warehouse team, you'll be responsible for loading and unloading freight, operating forklifts, sorting and handling freight, and ensuring all consignments are processed accurately and efficiently. This role involves manual handling and requires someone who is safety‑focused, detail‑oriented, and enjoys working as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently
- Load and unload trucks and freight
- Sort, scan, and process freight accurately
- Perform manual handling tasks as required
- Use handheld scanners and warehouse technology
- Ensure freight is handled with care and accuracy
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Work collaboratively with the warehouse team while also being able to work independently
What We're Looking For
- Current forklift licence (essential)
- Previous experience in freight handling or warehouse operations
- Airfreight experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong attention to detail
- A proactive attitude with initiative and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role
- Comfortable using scanners and warehouse technology
- Flexible to work varying shifts, with start times from 6:00am and finish times up to 7:00pm
- Availability to work occasional weekends (approximately 6:00am-11:00am, not every weekend)
