Maintenance & Repairs Technician/General Handyman (Part-Time & Contract)

We are seeking a Maintenance & Repairs Technician / General Handyman to join our Repairs & Maintenance Division, working across a diverse portfolio of clients including Strata, Real Estate, Insurance and Commercial properties.

This role is ideal for a skilled, reliable, and solutions-focused tradesperson who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working as part of a professional, forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

General Repairs & Maintenance

- General repairs and handyman works across residential, strata and commercial properties

- Day-to-day reactive maintenance and scheduled preventative maintenance works

- Minor make-good works following tenancy changes, insurance events or defect rectifications

Carpentry, Finishes & Building Works

- Basic carpentry and joinery works

- Door, lock, hinge and window repairs

- Minor tiling, paving and brick repairs

- Painting, patching, touch-ups and surface preparation

Property & Common Area Works

- Common area upkeep and presentation

- Pressure cleaning and graffiti removal

- Rubbish removal and minor site clean-ups

- Installation of signage, bollards, line marking and hazard controls

- Make safes and minor security-related works

WHS & Compliance Works

- Carrying out WHS report rectifications (minor hazards, controls, safety improvements)

- Identifying safety risks on site and reporting them appropriately

- Working in accordance with WHS legislation, safe work practices and TCG policies

Inspections & Reporting

- Conducting basic property and common area condition inspections

- Providing clear feedback,



photos and notes via our job management system

- Liaising professionally with clients, building managers, strata managers and residents

Systems & Administration

- Use of an online job management system (work orders, photos, notes, time tracking)

- Accurate recording of works completed and materials used

- Maintaining professional communication and documentation standards

About You – Skills & Experience

Essential:

- Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician or similar role

- Broad skill set across general maintenance, repairs and building works

- Own reliable vehicle suitable for travelling between sites

- Own tools appropriate for general handyman, repairs and maintenance works

- White Card

- Police check (or willingness to obtain one)

- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

- Ability to work independently and manage jobs efficiently as well as part of a Team

- Comfortable using mobile apps and online job management systems

- Strong communication skills and professional presentation

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to operate professionally at all times

- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and customer service

- Sound WHS knowledge and commitment to safe work practices

- Willingness and ability to follow proven systems, processes and procedures

Desirable (but not essential):

- Trade background or relevant qualifications

- Experience working within strata, real estate or insurance environments
