ValleyView Residence is a residential aged care facility located in Collie, Western Australia. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and respectful home where residents are supported to maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life.

Our Maintenance Officer plays an important role in ensuring the facility, equipment and surrounding grounds remain safe, functional and well presented for our residents, staff and visitors.

About the role

We are seeking a practical, reliable and organised Maintenance Officer to join ValleyView Residence on a full-time basis.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced handyman or maintenance all-rounder who is confident completing general repairs, preventative maintenance and everyday maintenance tasks across a residential facility.

The position works Monday to Friday and requires someone who can manage their workload independently, respond to maintenance requests and identify issues before they become larger problems.

Key responsibilities will include

- Completing general repairs and maintenance throughout the facility

- Undertaking routine and preventative maintenance tasks

- Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner

- Inspecting equipment, fixtures and facility areas for faults or safety concerns

- Assisting with the upkeep and presentation of internal and external areas

- Coordinating and communicating with external contractors when required

- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work

- Ensuring tools, equipment and maintenance areas are kept safe and organised

- Following workplace health and safety requirements

- Communicating respectfully with residents, families, staff and visitors

About you

- Strong general maintenance and handyman skills

- Experience completing minor repairs and preventative maintenance

- Good problem-solving and practical decision-making skills

- Strong organisation and time management
- The ability to work independently and prioritise competing requests
- A reliable, safety-focused and proactive approach

- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A current driver’s licence
- The physical capacity to safely complete the requirements of the role

Previous experience in maintenance, building, facilities management or a trade environment will be highly regarded.

A relevant trade qualification is advantageous, however it is not essential where the applicant can demonstrate broad practical experience and the ability to confidently complete general maintenance tasks.
