Male Target 120 Youth & Family Support Officer

Broome Youth & Families Hub (BYFH) | Full Time (1.0 FTE) Support young people to change their future. Strengthen families. Create lasting community impact.

Broome Youth & Families Hub (BYFH) is seeking a passionate and experienced male Target 120 Youth & Family Support Officer to join our dedicated team.

The Target 120 program is an early intervention initiative funded by the Department of Communities that works with young people at risk of becoming repeat offenders. Through intensive case management, mentoring, family support and robust community partnerships, the program helps young people build positive pathways while strengthening family relationships and reducing reoffending.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting vulnerable young people and their families through practical, strengths-based and culturally safe interventions.

About the Role

As a Target 120 Youth & Family Support Officer, you will:

- Build trusting relationships with young people and their families through mentoring and intensive case management
- Develop individual case plans, risk assessments and safety plans to support positive outcomes
- Support young people to engage in education, training, sport and positive community activities
- Work collaboratively with families to strengthen parenting capacity and create safe, supportive home environments
- Advocate for young people and families while coordinating access to appropriate services and supports
- Work closely with the Department of Communities, Community Youth Officers, Youth Justice, schools and other stakeholders
- Maintain accurate case notes, reports and program documentation in line with funding requirements
- Promote culturally safe, child-focused and strengths-based practice in all aspects of your work.

About You

You are a compassionate and resilient professional who is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people and families.



To be successful in this role you will have:
- A qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work, Education or a related discipline, or significant experience working with at-risk young people
- Demonstrated case management experience
- Experience working with Aboriginal young people, families and communities, with a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture
- Knowledge of youth development, education pathways and community support services
- Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work independently, think creatively and respond flexibly to changing circumstances
- A current National Police Clearance
- A Working with Children Check
- A current WA Driver's Licence.
