Join SP Data Centres on a major data centre construction project in Western Sydney.
SP Data Centres is seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) Consultant to support the successful delivery of a large-scale data centre construction project based in Huntingwood, Western Sydney .
This is an outstanding opportunity to work on a high-profile project within Australia's rapidly expanding data centre sector. We are also recruiting for a similar WHS Consultant position on a project in Eastern Creek , providing opportunities across multiple Western Sydney developments.
Working as an independent contractor via your own ABN, you'll partner with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day WHS support across the construction project.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and workplace observations.
- Identify hazards and assist with implementing effective risk controls.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action processes.
- Review Secure Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments and permit systems.
- Monitor contractor compliance with legislative and project WHS requirements.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and site communications.
- Coach supervisors and subcontractors on protected work practices.
- Maintain accurate WHS records, reports and documentation.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and proactive safety culture across the project.
About You
You are an experienced WHS skilled who enjoys working in fast-paced construction environments and has the confidence to build strong working relationships with contractors and project teams.
- Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health & Safety.
- Proven WHS experience within commercial construction, civil infrastructure or data centre projects.
- Sound knowledge of NSW Work Health & Safety legislation and construction compliance.
- Experience undertaking site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary project team.
- Current White Card.
- Current driver's licence.
- Own ABN and appropriate professional insurances.
- Previous experience on hyperscale or mission-critical data centre projects.
- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training.
- Current First Aid certificate.
