About the Role We are seeking a full-time Diesel Motor Mechanic with proven hands‑on experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and associated components. The role will involve working on heavy vehicles, plant equipment, and commercial diesel machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical faults in diesel engines and systems.
- Performing routine maintenance, servicing,
and overhaul of engines and mechanical components.
- Dismantling and rebuilding engine and transmission systems.
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts for proper performance.
- Conducting road tests and safety checks to verify fault rectification.
- Using diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ensuring all work complies with safety, environmental, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintaining accurate service records and reporting on mechanical issues.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure timely and efficient job completion.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant hands‑on experience.
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
- Proficiency with diesel engine systems, including transmissions, hydraulics, and brakes.
- Competent in using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently and within a team.
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and quality workmanship.
