The Clinical Therapeutic Specialist plays a key role in delivering high-quality therapeutic services to children and young people in Out of Home Care. Working within Allambi's Needs Based Restorative Framework (NBRF), you will assess client needs, develop and implement therapeutic and behaviour support plans, provide specialist interventions, and support staff to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, government stakeholders, families, and direct care staff to ensure therapeutic goals, permanency planning, and best-practice trauma-informed care are consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct assessments of children, young people and families to identify therapeutic needs.

Develop, implement and review behaviour support, risk management and therapeutic intervention plans.

Deliver therapeutic interventions and monitor progress toward individual goals.

Provide coaching, mentoring and training to direct care staff in therapeutic care practices.

Support crisis assessment, risk management and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) responses.

Ensure implementation of Allambi's Needs Based Restorative Framework and relevant regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation, reports, assessments and case records.

Liaise with families, government agencies, and external stakeholders to support positive client outcomes.

Travel to regional and rural areas as required to provide assessments and therapeutic support.

About You

You are a passionate and resilient clinician with strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice, child development, attachment theory,



and behaviour support. You are committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people and have the ability to translate clinical knowledge into practical interventions.

You will demonstrate:

Excellent communication, relationship-building and mentoring skills.

Experience working with children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

Strong assessment, report-writing and case management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Sound understanding of child protection, mandatory reporting and qualified ethical standards.

A calm, flexible and professional approach in high-pressure environments.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Human Services, Nursing, or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years' experience in child and adolescent mental health, behaviour support, child protection, Out of Home Care, or a related field.

Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care approaches.

Current driver's licence and willingness to travel.

Relevant professional registration or membership (where applicable).

Ability to obtain all required clearances and checks.
