We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly skilled Registered Nurse (Aged Care) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional, person-centered care to elderly residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. You will manage clinical assessments, lead care plans, oversee support staff, and act as a vital point of contact for residents' families and medical practitioners.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, monitor health changes, manage complex chronic conditions, and respond effectively to acute medical situations.
Medication Management: Safely and accurately administer, record, and audit medications in strict accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Care Planning: Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and allied health professionals.
Leadership & Supervision: Provide clinical leadership and guidance to Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs), ensuring a high standard of daily care.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous, accurate, and timely electronic health records, ensuring absolute compliance with aged care quality standards and legal requirements.
Wound & Palliative Care: Deliver specialized clinical interventions, including advanced wound management, infection control, and empathetic palliative/end-of-life care.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor of Nursing degree from an accredited tertiary institution.
Licensure & Registration: Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via APHRA.
Experience: Prior experience working within an aged care facility or a similar clinical environment (rehabilitation, community nursing, or acute geriatric care) is highly desirable.
Certifications: Valid National Police Check (or NDIS Worker Screening Check) and current First Aid/CPR certifications. Fully vaccinated in line with healthcare industry mandates.
Core Competencies: Excellent clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the empathy required to build trust with elderly residents and their families.
