We are looking to expand our Cyber Security team, seeking a Cyber Security Support Analyst to join our small but engaged, innovative and supportive team.
Purpose of the Role
In this role, you will be responding to security incidents, improving security processes, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen the organisation's overall cyber resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to cyber security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities in the on-premise and cloud environments sourced from SIEM and Microsoft Defender.
- Support cyber security operations including patch management, penetration testing, Business Continuity (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR) and continuous security improvements.
- Administer and secure Microsoft technologies including Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID, Office 365, Intune, Exchange, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Maintain security controls, documentation, policies, and compliance activities while supporting endpoint security, firewalls, and infrastructure protection.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve operational efficiency,
and leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance cyber security operations.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours support roster (1 in every 3 weeks), with an additional roster allowance provided.
Technical Skills and Experience Required
- Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field
- A minimum 2-3 years' experience in Cyber Security. Experience in Infrastructure Support or Systems Administration highly regarded.
- Experience supporting Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID and Intune, with exposure to cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of enterprise cyber security technologies including SIEM, Microsoft Defender, endpoint protection, firewalls, vulnerability management, and patch management.
- Understanding of cyber security best practices and frameworks (e.g. Essential Eight or Business Continuity), with exposure to PowerShell, Python or KQL scripting highly regarded.
- A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes, challenging existing ways of working and identifying opportunities for automation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.

- Stakeholder Engagement: The ability to build strong working relationships with IT teams, vendors and business stakeholders will be key to success in this role.
- Continuous improvement mindset: Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes, automate manual tasks and leverage new technologies to enhance cyber security operations.
- Technical aptitude: Solid understanding of Microsoft infrastructure, cloud technologies, and cyber security principles, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
Risk and security awareness: Positive understanding of cyber security best practices, vulnerability management, incident response, and security frameworks, with a commitment to maintaining a secure and compliant technology environment.
