Operation Sunshine WA is a 100% volunteer run Perth based charity supporting women, children, young people, and families impacted by violence and abuse or crisis across Western Australia. We provide practical support to people displaced by family and domestic violence, entering out of home care, or at risk of/experiencing homelessness through our various initiatives.

The role

We are looking for a creative individual with marketing flair to join our committee and help raise our profile through social media and newsletter communications with our subscribers. The marketing/content creator would be responsible for running the Operation Sunshine WA social media channels, creating content including posts, stories, reels, and videos to increase traffic on our social media channels and raise brand awareness. The successful candidate in this role would also be responsible for creating a quarterly newsletter to communicate recent events, achievements, fundraising and event opportunities, promote sponsors, and highlight volunteer efforts.

Key duties





- Creating social media content for Facebook and Instagram – other platforms also desirable.
- Scheduling and publishing content on social media channels.
- Working with the team to identify key marketing campaigns relevant to the organisation.
- Creation and distribution of quarterly newsletter.
- Participation in 6-8 weekly committee meetings.

Skills and experience

- Experience using social media required.
- Content creation experience preferred.
- Experience using Canva or willingness to learn.
- Graphic design and or photography skills.

Regular - more than 6 months

Time Required

This position would require 5-10 hour commitment per week with flexibility around days/times and online facilitation.

We operate out of a facility based in Maddington, this role would include attendance at events and activities at the Maddington facility or other locations in order to capture content for media and marketing purposes.
