Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is seeking a motivated Marketing & Events Intern to support the delivery of community engagement, communications and events across one of Australia's largest Indigenous-led renewable energy initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a university student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced communications and stakeholder engagement professionals.

About YEC

YEC is a partnership between the Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation and ACEN, a leading international renewable energy company.

Together, we're developing renewable energy projects on Yindjibarndi Country in the Pilbara, creating opportunities for clean energy development, Indigenous participation, local employment and long-term community benefits.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability, Stakeholder Engagement & Communications, you'll provide practical support across a range of marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement and event activities.

Your responsibilities will include

- Assisting with community, stakeholder and corporate events

- Coordinating invitations, registrations and event logistics

- Supporting social media, website and digital communications

- Preparing presentations, newsletters and promotional materials

- Capturing photography and video content at events and activities

- Helping maintain stakeholder databases and communication records

- Providing administrative support to the broader team

This role offers valuable exposure to communications, community engagement, renewable energy and corporate affairs.

About You

We're looking for someone who:





- Is currently studying or has recently completed a qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management or a related field

- Has solid written and verbal communication skills

- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks

- Has experience using Microsoft Office applications

- Has experience using Canva or similar design platforms

- Works well in a team and shows initiative

- Holds a current C-Class driver's licence and is willing to travel occasionally

The following will be highly regarded:
- Experience with social media content creation

- Photography or videography skills

- Event coordination experience

- Understanding of Aboriginal engagement and community-focused organisations
