5 on - 5 off / 4 on - 4 off Workfast are seeking qualified Plant Mechanics & Mechanical Fitters to join our maintenance team at a mining operation in Muswellbrook.
The Role Working primarily across fixed plant and heavy processing infrastructure, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of site equipment. You will be working within a supportive team environment where safety and quality workmanship are the highest priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair heavy plant machinery
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on heavy fixed plant equipment (conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, and gearboxes).
- Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Execute planned shutdown maintenance and ensure minimal operational downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report on equipment condition.
About You To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive, team-oriented tradesperson with a solid commitment to zero-harm safety practices. Requirements:
- Australian recognised Trade Qualification
(Mechanical Fitter ideally, or Heavy Plant / Heavy Vehicle Mechanics welcomed).
- Coal Board Medical (order 45)
OR willing/able to gain one
- Previous experience in heavy industry, mining, or fixed plant/mineral processing environments is highly regarded.
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical (Coal Board Medical) and regular drug & alcohol screening.
**MUST RESIDE WITHIN Approx 80km MAX from site (1 hour approx)
or willing to gain accomodation at own expense for fatigue management requirements About us:
