My defence client requires a permanent mechanical supervisor, paying $116'000 + vehicle + super

Your new company

My client is a leading infrastructure services provider in Australia and New Zealand, specialising in the operation, maintenance, and management.

Your new role The Mechanical Fitter Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of mechanical fitters and fabricators to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance and fabrication services across all sites. This role ensures operational excellence through proactive planning, technical oversight, and continuous improvement, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence in alignment with our values and strategic objectives.

Operational Excellence

Lead daily operations by planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical fitting and fabrication tasks.

Ensure adherence to maintenance procedures, technical standards, and quality benchmarks.

Drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Monitor and report on team performance against KPIs, ensuring timely corrective actions.

Support operational reviews and contribute to maintenance planning and reporting.

Assist in budget planning and cost control for mechanical maintenance activities.

Track resource utilisation and material consumption to optimise operational costs.

Ensure accurate documentation and reporting to support financial transparency and performance tracking.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation using digital tools (e.g., CMMS, Power BI).

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications





Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.

Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or Fabrication.

Certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Skilled (CMRP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) (desirable).

Neg Vet 2 clearance (preferred and willing to obtain)

Work safely with explosive ordnance - DEFEO101D

Forklift licence

HDPE welding

Certificate in First Aid

White Card

High Risk Licences - Working at Heights, EWP

Expertise in mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and operational management.

Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.

Willingness to travel, work across multiple regions, and respond to urgent operational requirements.

Experience

Minimum 3+ years in a similar supervisory role.

5+ years' experience in construction work or facilities maintenance.
