Supergroups is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis at our Epping Branch. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the Kubota construction equipment range as well as other brand construction equipment. This is a hands-on position that plays a crucial part in ensuring that our customers machines operate at peak efficiency and reliability. You will work in a professional workshop environment, as well as in field attending to machines on-site where necessary, utilising modern diagnostic tools and your technical expertise to deliver high-quality mechanical services.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups on diesel vehicles
Repair and replace faulty components such as fuel injectors, turbochargers, glow plugs, and engine parts
Conduct thorough inspections of machines to identify potential issues before they become major problems
Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritise workload and meet service schedules
Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
Advise customers on machine maintenance and repair options when appropriate
What we're looking for
A recognised formal qualification in diesel mechanics or automotive engineering
Minimum of 2-3 years' hands-on experience working with diesel engines and hydraulic systems
Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostic equipment and computer-based diagnostic tools
Strong knowledge of diesel fuel systems, injection systems, and engine components
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service specifications
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
A methodical approach to work with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
A commitment to workplace health and safety practices
Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
Experience with heavy-duty vehicles or commercial diesel engines
