Description: About The Role We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our team on a fixed term contract until July 2027. Reporting to the Service Manager at SUSD, you will provide high-quality, recovery-focused clinical support to people experiencing mental health challenges. You’ll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support residents to achieve their recovery goals through evidence-based interventions, therapeutic support and coordinated care.

This is a role for someone who can balance solid clinical capability with empathy, collaboration and genuine human connection. What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: Conduct comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessments, including risk and safety assessments

Develop, implement and review recovery-focused care plans alongside residents and the multidisciplinary team

Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions relevant to your discipline

Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when required

Facilitate therapeutic groups and psychoeducation sessions





Manage a clinical caseload and coordinate care with internal and external stakeholders

Advocate for residents and support access to community resources and services

Work collaboratively with GPs, psychiatrists, families and support networks

Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records

Contribute to a positive, supportive and recovery-oriented team culture Skills and Experiences: What You’ll Bring We’re looking for someone who is passionate about mental health recovery and brings both clinical expertise and compassion to their practice. You’ll also have: Relevant qualifications and registration in one of the following: Nursing - AHPRA Registered Nurse

Occupational Therapy - Degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration

Social Work - Degree in Social Work and eligibility for AASW membership

Psychology - AHPRA Registered Psychologist Along with: Experience delivering mental health treatment interventions and psychosocial support

Previous case management experience

Experience facilitating therapeutic groups

Strong communication, interpersonal and report writing skills The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
