SCOPE
As our Territory Sales Manager, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing a defined territory across metropolitan Sydney, including some regional stores.
This role is entirely focused on servicing Bunnings, our largest customer. Rather than traditional order-taking sales, the position centres on delivering outstanding merchandising, building strong relationships with store teams and providing effective in-store product training.
You will play an important role in ensuring exceptional in-store execution across key brands, including Scotts Osmocote, Scotts Lawn Builder, Searles and Roundup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a regular territory call cycle across Bunnings stores and consistently deliver high merchandising standards.
- Execute planograms, seasonal changes, range updates and promotional activity accurately across multiple brands.
- Build strong,
collaborative relationships with Bunnings store teams and other key stakeholders.
- Deliver engaging and effective product training sessions for Bunnings team members.
- Manage territory budgets and key performance indicators, including stock holdings, product ranging and store compliance.
- Implement head office–led promotions at store level.
- Maximise brand visibility through secondary and off-location displays.
- Deliver outstanding execution of seasonal programs and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor store standards, identify opportunities and take action to improve product presentation and availability.
- Maintain accurate customer records, store visit information and reporting within the company’s CRM system.
About you:
You are energetic, self-motivated and willing to roll up your sleeves to make a difference in-store. You enjoy working independently, building relationships and seeing the results of your work.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in field sales or merchandising.
- Direct experience servicing Bunnings, or previous experience working within a Bunnings store.
- Strong hands-on merchandising skills and a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage a territory and prioritise competing workloads.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence engaging with store teams and delivering training to small groups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and identify opportunities.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- The ability to adapt and thrive in a changing business environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence learning new systems.
- A full, unrestricted driver’s licence and an excellent driving history.
An interest in plants or gardening is desirable—it never hurts to be rooted in what we do.
