We're looking for an experienced Mine Geologist to join our underground mining team on a permanent basis. Graduate Geologists will also be considered.
This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and managing the daily mine geological activities under the direction of the Senior Geotechnical & Projects Engineer.
What you'll be doing
- Daily/Monthly production/geological data validation and reporting.
- Geological and geo technical mapping.
- Designing and marking up faces
- Collaborating with engineers to develop productive mine plans with a focus on ore recovery
- Collaborating with operators/supervisors to implement mine plans
- Monthly and PTD block model reconciliation
What we are looking for • Minimum a Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geosciences
- Competency with at least one mine planning software package, preferably Vulcan
- Understanding of mining techniques and methodologies, to aid in the best extraction of minimally diluted ore
- Experience in mine geology and grade control practices
- Understanding of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
