In this role, you may support participants with agreed personal care, daily routines, community access, household activities, appointments, life skills, transport and other approved supports.

You will be expected to understand the participant’s routines and relevant plans, work within your training and role, complete accurate progress notes and report changes, concerns or incidents through the correct process.

- Supporting personal care and daily routines
- Community access, appointments and suitable activities
- Meal preparation and household routines
- Transport and travel related assistance
- Supporting participants to practise agreed life skills
- Following relevant support, care or behaviour support plans
- Helping participants follow recommendations provided by allied health professionals within the support worker role
- Completing accurate progress notes and required documentation
- Reporting incidents, risks, changes or concerns promptly
- Communicating respectfully with participants and authorised people
- Completing participant specific training where required

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

- A completed Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or a higher or equivalent relevant qualification accepted by Helora
- Current Australian work rights
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- The ability to communicate clearly and complete accurate documentation
- Willingness to complete Helora induction and participant specific training
- Suitable professional references
- A Working with Children Check where required for the role

Where participant transport forms part of the position, applicants must also have:

- A current Australian driver licence




- A safe driving history
- Access to a registered, roadworthy and appropriately insured vehicle where their own vehicle is used

This is not a trainee position. Holding a qualification does not automatically make a worker suitable for every participant or support arrangement. Helora will still consider experience, judgement, communication, training, availability and the requirements of the participant.

- Communication or sensory support
- Working alongside allied health or clinical professionals

Being selected for the Helora worker pool does not guarantee a particular participant, minimum number of shifts or ongoing hours.

Worker matching depends on participant choice, support needs, location, schedule, required skills, worker suitability and current service demand.
