Job Description

Placed.au is looking for a full-time Bricklayer for our client in Eltham, Victoria. This role is responsible for constructing and repairing structures using bricks, blocks, stone, and other masonry materials while ensuring high-quality workmanship, structural integrity, and compliance with workplace safety standards.

- Accurately read and interpret building plans and specifications.
- Utilise work plans to accurately determine the tools, materials, and equipment required to carry out tasks.
- Lay bricks, blocks, stones, and other masonry materials to construct and repair walls and other building structures.
- Lay bricks using mortar and trowels to fill joints, ensuring they are secure.
- Remove excess mortar from bricks as required.
- Use a plumb bob and level to ensure bricks are correctly aligned.
- Safely operate an assortment of hand and power tools to complete works.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment to cut, shape, and prepare stone and other masonry materials to the required size.
- Safely erect and dismantle scaffolding required to carry out tasks.
- Maintain a clean and tidy worksite, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Qualifications / Attributes





- Must hold a Certificate III in Bricklaying, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- Must possess at least one (1) year of relevant work experience as a Bricklayer or in a similar masonry role.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of bricklaying techniques, masonry construction, and repair methods.
- Proficient in the protected use of hand tools, power tools, and bricklaying equipment.
- Experience working with scaffolding and maintaining a safe construction environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure structural accuracy and quality workmanship.
- Sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a construction team.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering work to a high standard.

Salary Range $80,000 – $85,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
