Task & responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the laboratory, scheduling all necessary activities to be completed before production commences or delivery is required and supervising any employees assisting in those processes.
- Manage and oversee quality control protocols and processes to ensure health and safety standards in the laboratory comply with regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels, including implementing any technical upgrades to existing equipment and ensuring adequate training regarding any upgrades.
- Train and supervise Refinery Technicians, laboratory assistants and interns in the proper use of all laboratory equipment and the necessary safety procedures to follow within the laboratory.
- Monitor and ensure all laboratory operations are performed according to specifications.
- Review the results of studies, tests and analysis performed in the laboratory.
- Plan,
organise and co-ordinate the quality management processes within the laboratory with a scope to continuous improvement.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
- Years of experience in a laboratory setting
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of organic certification standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
