Great food. Warm hospitality. A place to gather. BridgeHaus is Nowra’s newest café, restaurant, bar and events venue.

With our Head Chef and Venue Manager now on board, we’re looking for additional people to join our team!

About the roles

BridgeHaus operates seven days a week, so both roles will include weekends, evenings and key trading periods. Initially offered as casual positions of approximately 20–38 hours per week, there is potential for permanent employment as BridgeHaus grows.

We are recruiting for two positions:

- A Commis Chef looking to build their skills and gain experience across a varied hospitality operation.

- An experienced Cook who can work confidently in a busy kitchen and bring solid practical skills to the team.

Both roles offer the opportunity to work alongside our Head Chef from the beginning, helping establish the kitchen culture and deliver a menu that keeps people coming back.

With café, restaurant and function service all under one roof, no two days will look quite the same. These roles will suit people who enjoy variety, are keen to learn and want to be part of building something new.

For the Commis Chef role, we’re looking for someone who has:

- Completed,



or is close to completing, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

- Some experience working in a commercial kitchen
- An interest in developing their skills and learning from an experienced Head Chef

- Good organisation and attention to detail
- A strong understanding of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

- Availability to work weekends, evenings and key trading periods

For the experienced Cook role, we’re looking for someone who has:

- At least three years’ experience in a busy commercial kitchen

- Strong practical cooking skills and confidence working across service
- The ability to stay organised and maintain quality under pressure
- The experience and confidence to step up and lead service when required

- High standards of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation
- A collaborative approach and respect for every member of the team

- Availability to work weekends, evenings and key trading periods
