QIX Consulting is partnering with a leading client to engage an experienced Network & Security Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity based in Perth.

This role is ideal for an infrastructure professional with strong expertise across enterprise networking and security technologies who enjoys working in complex, high-availability environments.

About the Role

As the Network & Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure while ensuring security, stability, and performance across the environment.

You'll work across routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, VPNs, cloud networking, and security technologies while providing Level 2/3 support and contributing to ongoing infrastructure improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement and support LAN, WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN environments
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and network services
- Perform upgrades, patching, security hardening and system maintenance
- Monitor network performance, availability and capacity
- Provide Level 2/3 troubleshooting across networking and security platforms
- Implement network security policies,



procedures and best practices
- Work within change management processes
- Collaborate with vendors and internal technical teams to resolve complex issues
- Support cloud networking across AWS and Azure environments

Skills & Experience We're looking for professionals with experience across:

- 5+ years' experience as a Network or Network Security Engineer
- Cisco networking (routing, switching, wireless and voice)
- Check Point Firewalls
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- F5 Load Balancers
- VPN technologies and network security
- LAN/WAN, SD-WAN and enterprise networking
- AWS and/or Microsoft Azure networking
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience working independently in enterprise environments

Desirable Certifications

- CCNA or CCNP
- Check Point CCSA or CCSE
- Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE
- F5 Certified Administrator
- AWS Advanced Networking or Azure Networking certifications
- NV1 Security Clearance (Highly Desirable)
