# North West Field Service Lead

Mining, Power & Engineered Equipment Port Hedland / Wedgefield, WA

Build Blue Diamond's North West service capability from the ground up.

Blue Diamond Machinery is seeking an experienced, hands-on field service professional to establish and lead our permanent service presence in North West WA.

This is not a desk-based supervisor position. Initially you'll be the senior technician on the tools — diagnosing faults, completing field repairs and commissioning equipment. As the operation grows, you'll recruit, develop and lead the North West service team.

Based from our Wedgefield service location, you'll support major mining, rental, civil and infrastructure customers across Port Hedland and the broader North West.

The role

You'll take ownership of field service delivery across:

- Diesel generation and temporary-power systems
- Electrical controls, switchgear and automatic-start systems
- Hybrid and battery energy equipment
- Remote monitoring and telemetry
- Compressors, pumps and associated industrial equipment
- Custom-built and engineered equipment operating on Rio Tinto and other Tier 1 mining sites

You'll work closely with our Perth engineering, fabrication and technical teams while becoming the trusted local point of contact for North West customers.

Key responsibilities

* Field diagnostics, preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and commissioning
- Coordinate equipment modifications, upgrades and rectification work, with accurate field feedback to engineering
- Build strong relationships with site teams, maintenance departments and key customers
- Establish practical service procedures, critical-spares holdings and regional response capability
- Plan and manage your own workload, travel, parts and customer communication




- Maintain complete digital job records, inspection reports and photographic evidence
- Support equipment trials, installations, handovers and operator training
- Recruit, mentor and lead additional technicians as regional demand grows
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and commercial discipline
- Participate in planned after-hours and emergency-response arrangements

About you

You're an experienced field technician who still enjoys the tools but is ready to take genuine ownership of a region.

You'll bring

- A relevant electrical, diesel, mechanical or industrial trade qualification
- Solid fault-finding across electrical controls and mechanical systems
- Power-generation or complex industrial equipment experience
- Field-service experience in mining, construction, rental or heavy industry
- Confidence working independently at remote and Tier 1 sites, with a practical understanding of isolations, permits and site compliance
- Strong customer communication and professional job reporting
- The judgement to know when to repair, replace, escalate or involve engineering
- A leadership mindset and the ability to mentor future team members
- A current Australian driver's licence An unrestricted WA electrical licence is preferred; exceptional mechanically qualified candidates with strong power-generation and diagnostic experience will also be considered. Existing Tier 1 inductions, battery or hybrid-system experience,



telemetry knowledge and previous team-lead responsibility will be highly regarded.
