For millions of Australians with disability, exclusion continues to be shaped by the systems, attitudes and environments that limit opportunities to learn, work, participate and belong. The Achieve Foundation exists to change this.

Working alongside people with disability, philanthropists, government, business, researchers and community leaders, the Foundation builds the evidence, partnerships and practical solutions needed to address the causes of exclusion and create change at scale. Its priorities are to transform employment outcomes, change community attitudes and reimagine inclusive education in Australian schools.

The Foundation has already mobilised $4.5 million for disability inclusion, engaged 96 philanthropic and corporate organisations, briefed 26 government departments and built an active network of major employers representing more than 33,000 employees.

The opportunity

Having established strong momentum and a distinctive role in advancing systemic disability inclusion, The Achieve Foundation is now seeking an accomplished Non-Executive Board Director to help guide its next stage of growth and impact. Working with the Board Chair, fellow directors, and the Executive Director,



you will contribute to the Foundation’s strategic direction, governance, and long-term sustainability. You will provide constructive oversight and insight while helping to strengthen the partnerships and investment needed to advance its national ambitions.

The successful candidate will also join the Board’s Financial Sustainability Committee. The Foundation is particularly interested in senior leaders with significant experience and trusted relationships across one or more of the following:

- Australian philanthropy and grantmaking;
- Family foundations, private wealth or family offices;
- Business, investment or finance;
- Professional services ;
- Corporate foundations or social investment.

Your relationships will be important, not simply as a source of introductions, but as a way to deepen understanding, bring new champions to the cause and increase the investment directed towards systemic disability inclusion.

You will offer

- a genuine commitment to social inclusion and better outcomes for people with disability ;
- senior leadership experience and sound strategic, commercial and governance judgement
- standing and credibility across philanthropic, corporate,



investment or private wealth communities;
- the ability and willingness to build trusted relationships and champion the Foundation’s purpose;
- a cooperative and respectful approach to Board contribution;
- the time, energy and commitment to contribute actively.

Previous Board experience will be valued. Equally important will be your alignment with the Foundation’s purpose and your capacity to make a meaningful contribution to its future. Board commitment The Board meets four times each year for approximately 2.5 hours. Meetings are predominantly online, with one in-person meeting annually and occasional participation in events or donor engagement by agreement.

The appointments will commence in December 2026. This is a voluntary position, with reasonable authorised expenses reimbursed. The Achieve Foundation welcomes candidates from all backgrounds and particularly encourages applications from people with disability.
