About The Role:

We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic and experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to join our expanding team. You will work on a variety of properties throughout Greater Melbourne. In this role, you will ensure that our operations meet all external regulatory requirements and internal policies, protecting the company’s integrity and reputation.

You will work closely with our clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, overseeing compliance monitoring, risk assessments, staff training, and reporting activities. Key responsibilities:

- · Undertake and supervise field operations (grounds maintenance) tasks to support the completion of the company’s operations/projects in a timely manner, on budget, safely and to specification.
- · Collaborate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain compliance standards while being compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- · Leading hand duties including the management of small gardening teams and the coordination and delegation of tasks to team members.
- · Support WHS and safety compliance across work sites.
- · Handling of any health and safety matters as and when they arise and participating in toolbox talks.
- · Participate in site inspections and compliance reviews.




- · Assist with development and implementation of works procedures.
- · Assist with development, deliver, and track staff training on compliance topics.

What You Need to Succeed:

- · Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within property maintenance or a related industry.
- · Trade qualified at Certificate IV or Diploma Level.
- · At least two years’ experience in practical horticulture.
- · At least four years’ experience as a garden crew member/in grounds maintenance.
- · At least four years’ experience using powered equipment and hand tools.
- · Hold current police check or willing to obtain.
- · Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to multiple sites as required.
- · Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
- · Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team workplace.
- · Strong organisational and time management skills.
- · Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management principles.
- · Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- · Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) an advantage.
- · Be willing to undertake random drug and alcohol testing in line with company WHS policies.
