Safari 4x4 Engineering is a 40-year-old family-owned company manufacturing high Quality aftermarket parts for 4WDs. Safari manufactures 3 different product groups, Snorkels, Armax (performance products) and military/Defense components. Safari 4x4 is categorized as an essential service, so job security is there.

An experienced SOLIDWORKS CAD Designer with surfacing experience is required. A full time-permanent position (onsite) with long term outlook. Immediate start with a 6-month probation period. Degree qualification ideal but not essential, but minimum 5 years design experience is required. Job located in East Melbourne at the Safari 4x4 Croydon South office.

Candidate must have a high level of competency and understanding of mechanical design principles, DFMA and experience in fields such as surfacing, CNC Machining, Sheet metal, injection/rotor moulding, casting, tubular structures, welding. etc.

SOLIDWORKS CSWP and CSWPA-SU or higher preferred. Experience in Polyworks and 3D scanning/reverse engineering is also advantageous. Automotive background preferred with a keen interest in the industry. Solid problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills needed.
