Oppia Wantirna South is seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Educator to join our baby room team at our Wantirna South service. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality early childhood education and care to children in our Centre. As a Lead Educator, you will be instrumental in creating a nurturing, stimulating learning environment that supports very young children's development across all areas, whilst leading and mentoring other team members. This role is central to our mission of providing exceptional childcare and education services that foster children's growth, curiosity and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, develop and implement engaging educational programs for very young children that are developmentally appropriate and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework
- Provide direct care and supervision to children in your designated room or area, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and learning outcomes are prioritized
- Lead and mentor other educators within your team, supporting their professional development and ensuring consistent quality practices
- Maintain detailed observations and assessments of children's development and progress, communicating regularly with parents and guardians
- Create and maintain a safe, clean and inclusive learning setting that encourages exploration and discovery
- Build positive relationships with families and engage parents in their child's learning journey
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and adherence to centre policies and procedures




- Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and accreditation standards
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance your practice
- Support colleagues in identifying and responding to children's individual needs, including those with additional support requirements

What we're looking for

- A recognized early childhood education qualification such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Demonstrated experience working as an Educator in a childcare or educational setting, ideally in a lead or mentoring capacity with children aged under 2 years.
- Strong knowledge of child development, theory and best practice in early childhood education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, families and team members
- Ability to lead, motivate and support other educators in delivering quality outcomes
- First Aid and CPR certification
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting children's holistic development
- Strong organizational and planning skills,



with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Understanding of inclusive practices and commitment to supporting children from diverse backgrounds
- Flexibility and ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
