About the Role
As a Trainee Laboratory Technician, you will work in both our laboratory and on construction sites, learning to perform a range of tests on asphalt and pavement materials while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
This is a casual position with the opportunity to progress to a permanent full-time role for capable and committed employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing on asphalt and pavement materials.
- Prepare, and process test samples.
- Accurately record, analyse, and report test results.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist with field testing and sample collection at construction sites.
- Follow laboratory procedures, quality systems, and safety requirements.
- Communicate professionally with clients, site supervisors, and team members.
About You
- Completed Year 12 or hold a Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Hold a current Australian driver's licence (essential).
- Possess good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Have excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Be physically fit and capable of manual handling.
- Be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be confident working independently on construction sites after training.
- Have positive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be willing to work occasional night shifts and weekends when required.
