Primary Objective: Supports and provides collaborative, appropriate, proficient, coordinated direct and indirect clinical care for complex client presentations, including working with and alongside less experienced nursing and midwifery staff, within the specialty area. This As the sole health skilled onsite, this role will work collaboratively with the off-site Duty Remote Medical Practitioner to meet the health needs of persons detained in the police watch house, providing police professionals with advice on the management of persons in custody. Extensive clinical experience relevant to working in professional isolation (desirable: remote area nursing, emergency nursing, custodial care nursing) to effectively triage,
manage and monitor acute and chronic health needs of persons detained in the police watch house ensuring all persons are ‘Fit for Custody’ is required.
Applicants will be required to have experience driving a manual vehicle and be eligible to obtain a NT drivers Licence and meet the Police, Fire and Emergency Services security clearance requirements, meet the Northern Territory Correctional Services security clearance requirements and be willing to work at NT Correctional Facilities if required.
